The next known set of tenants at 1209 Main were Robert Hall (1921-2012) and his family. He came to
Louisville in 1948 to be the principal and science teacher at the nearby Louisville High School at 1341 Main
that had opened in 1940. He and his wife, Viola, and sons Russell, Tyler, and Wesley are shown on the 1950
census as living at 1209 Main, with Jim Colacci also residing on the property at the same time and working as a
"poultryman;" The Halls left Louisville in 1951 for Robert to take a position elsewhere.
Starting in 1951, Joe Stelmack (1904-1989) and Agnes Pankoski Stelmack (1910-1995) began to rent the
house. They were both born in Superior. Jim Colacci continued to live on the premises at this time as well;
According to the 1956 Louisville directory, Jim was living in the "rear;" This rental situation turned into the
Stelmacks actually purchasing the property.
Ownership of Property by Stelmack Family (1959-1996)
In 1959, Agnes and Joe Stelmack bought 1209 Main and continued to live there. (The 1960 directory lists
Jim Colacci as still living at 1209 Main as well, although this may have been a carryover from their
situation in 1959.) The house was sold after Agnes's 1995 death.
Jim Colacci died in 1964. His August 7, 1964 obituary in the Louisville Times stated that his death
followed a long illness.
Aerial Photos
This excerpt of a 1962 aerial photo of Louisville, looking east, shows a back view of the property at 1209 Main,
including outbuildings that are now gone:
1209 Main Street Page
