The front yard setbacks have been clarified to add a note referring to Section 17.16.080 of the
Louisville Municipal Code that allows for reduction in front yard setbacks to conform to established
setbacks of adjoining properties. A maximum setback is also proposed to insure that a new home is
not setback uncharacteristically far from the front property line.
Another suggestion was to restrict garages facing the street where alley access was available. The
potential visual dominance of garage doors facing the street, especially on narrow lots, is not in
keeping with the existing character of Old Town. It may not be practical to access a garage from a
very narrow or undeveloped alley, so street access would only be prohibited if access to a developed
alley with a minimum right of way width of 15 feet, or a side street were available.
The meeting has been advertised and posted as a public meeting, and will commence at 7:00 P.M.
2
