Volunteer Project for November- discuss- Community Food Share <br />“We did very well and the people were VERY generous. We even ran out of <br />space in our carts, we needed to get 2-5 extra shopping carts.” <br />-Mandy Perera <br />VIII. December volunteer Projects- <br />Parade of Lights- <br />Meet at the Elks Club at 6:30pm <br />Wear your YAB Sweatshirts/Hoodies <br />We will have candy to pass out, and a YAB banner to carry <br />IX. Dessert and Story Time with Santa <br />Pizza will be served. <br />Come early to help set up. <br />February Event will be the “Royal Ball” a father/daughter dance <br />X. YAB Charter <br />They will be contacting us about this. <br />XI. Rec. Center rooftop garden <br />Too many plausibility issues for the Rec. Center, but perhaps continue <br />researching <br />XII. Creating a Volunteer Guide Handbook <br />Come to the next meeting with: <br /> Suggestions of places you have worked for volunteer hours or would like <br />to do so <br /> Format ideas/template questions <br /> Any other guides that may exist <br />XIII. April- Keep it Clean Day <br />Generally agreed that the keep It Clean Day project would be better than the <br />skits discussed at earlier meeting because it would have more impact. Mandy <br />will find out more about this. <br />XIV. Eyes and Ears <br />Daisy–elementary school children, like her brothers, are worried about J-Walking <br />when they see other kids walking to school. <br />We talked about safety of cars seeing pedestrians, but agreed the responsibility <br /> goes both ways. <br />A big part of it may be that kids are not educated well enough about the dangers. <br />Eliza- there are already signs- what more can be done? If they don’t pay <br /> attention to the signs? <br />Education is the key- talk to the schools about it and see what they think. <br /> <br />
