They will <br />include the Safeway property and the Arnold property. <br />VIII. Presentation on “Lighting 101” <br />Facilities ManagerDave Szabadosbegins his presentation at about 19:30 h. He discussesthe <br />various approaches and considerations of the Public Works Department to reduce energy for <br />lighting in all City facilities. Some of the lighting factors to consider are: initial cost, operating <br />cost, maintenance, CRI, color temperature, ballast and transformer requirements, dimming <br />capabilities, instant on/off, directionality, efficacy, lamp life, ambient temperature requirements, <br />heat generated, and noise generated. Dave discusses the various lamp types, points out that <br />LEDs have their problems, and ends with a demonstration of various light sources. Copies of the <br />ELEEK lamping comparison chartare distributed. Another source of useful information is the <br />solid-state lighting page of the U. S. Department of Energy. <br />IX.Discussion Items for next meeting on January 19, 2011. <br />Mary Ann will give a revised version of the livable cities presentation (30 mins.). <br />Mr. R. G. Harrington,identified himself as affiliate of “Transition Louisville” and as Vice President <br />of the Colorado Solar Energy Industry Association. He urged LSAB to support the solar panels <br />at the water treatment plants of the City of Louisville. <br />Due to time limitations, discussions of the GEO Community Leadership Program and of the <br />Solar Tour of Homes 2011 had to be postponed to the next meeting. <br />X.ADJOURN <br />–The meeting was adjourned at about 20:35 h. <br />
