Cultural Council Minutes November 18th, 2010 Louisville Center for the Arts 801 Grant 7:00 PM I.7:10Meeting Commenced II.Present: Maryan Jaross, Julie Kovash, Justine Vigil-Tapia,Susan McNamara, Lynn Wooton, Rebecca Lasica, Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel, Frost Yarnell Absent: Andy Langford, Don Atwood(resigned),Kit Simon (resigned) III.Motion to approve Agenda: moved by Lynn; seconded by Rebecca; all approved IV.Motion to approve Minutes: moved by Lynn; seconded by Justine; all approved. V.Public Comments: No public comments. VI.Presentation by City of Louisville Planning Dept (Gavin McMillan.) –Parking and Pedestrian Action Plan Gavin presented results of parking study and introduced downtown public art concept LCC members reminded Gavin that DBA investigatedthis about 3 years ago and was not successful because City was concerned about placement of art (easements, liability, etc). This will need to be readdressed before proceeding with concept. th there will be a Public Open House meeting to review the study On December 16 information –all are invited and encouraged to participate. Idea to pass along to the city –include public art allowance in future business development deals. VII.President’s Report: Julie thanked the outgoing members and city liaisons for all their support. 5 boards members have been appointed (partial and full-year terms); letters of notificationin the mail. By-law suggestion –list a board membership range instead of a specific number. A couple of final event reports still need to be submitted; if you have one to submit please do so; need to close out the year with complete information! Kathy will be compiling the 2010 attendance figures; information is used for grant requests and funding purposes 2011 event dates have been requested; Julie S. is working to finalize dates. January meeting will be busy, need to welcome new members, review the budget and elect 2011 officers.
