Cultural Council <br />Minutes <br />November 18th, 2010 <br />Louisville Center for the Arts <br />801 Grant <br />7:00 <br />PM <br />I.7:10Meeting Commenced <br />II.Present: Maryan Jaross, Julie Kovash, Justine Vigil-Tapia,Susan McNamara, Lynn <br />Wooton, Rebecca Lasica, Kathy Martin, Julie Seydel, Frost Yarnell <br />Absent: Andy Langford, Don Atwood(resigned),Kit Simon (resigned) <br />III.Motion to approve Agenda: moved by Lynn; seconded by Rebecca; all approved <br />IV.Motion to approve Minutes: moved by Lynn; seconded by Justine; all approved. <br />V.Public Comments: No public comments. <br />VI.Presentation by City of Louisville Planning Dept (Gavin McMillan.) –Parking and <br />Pedestrian Action Plan <br />Gavin presented results of parking study and introduced downtown public art <br />concept <br />LCC members reminded Gavin that DBA investigatedthis about 3 years ago and <br />was not successful because City was concerned about placement of art (easements, <br />liability, etc). This will need to be readdressed before proceeding with concept. <br />th <br />there will be a Public Open House meeting to review the study <br />On December 16 <br />information –all are invited and encouraged to participate. <br />Idea to pass along to the city –include public art allowance in future business <br />development deals. <br />VII.President’s Report: <br />Julie thanked the outgoing members and city liaisons for all their support. <br />5 boards members have been appointed (partial and full-year terms); letters of <br />notificationin the mail. <br />By-law suggestion –list a board membership range instead of a specific number. <br />A couple of final event reports still need to be submitted; if you have one to submit <br />please do so; need to close out the year with complete information! <br />Kathy will be compiling the 2010 attendance figures; information is used for grant <br />requests and funding purposes <br />2011 event dates have been requested; Julie S. is working to finalize dates. <br />January meeting will be busy, need to welcome new members, review the budget <br />and elect 2011 officers. <br /> <br />
