Job Descriptions <br />General Board Members <br />In general, the Louisville Cultural Council (LCC) provides an advisory function to the <br />City of Louisville pertaining to the promotion of charitable, educational, cultural and <br />scientific activities. LCC members are creative and innovative and are deeply committed <br />to fostering the arts and culture in the community. Specific responsibilities include: <br />Commit to attending most monthly meetings in a year. <br />All duties as stated in the bylaws for the LCC. <br />Determine organization’s mission and purpose. <br />Provide financial oversight. Board members must understand and vote on the <br />yearly budget for LCC and on individual expenditures. <br />Write grants, solicit donations and sponsorships and other fundraising as <br />necessary. <br />Provide special skills as appropriate, such as marketing, graphics, <br />Assist in planning and executing the Board’s goals. <br />Serve on committees as necessary. <br />Determine, monitor and strengthen LCC’s programs and services. Ensure <br />programs are consistent with the missionand are monitored for effectiveness. <br />Submit event report by the month following an event. <br />Assist in recruiting new members and volunteers. <br />President <br />All duties as stated in the bylaws for the LCC. <br />Oversees monthly meetings. <br />Prepares agendas for monthly meetings. <br />Acts as second signer on LCC checking account. <br />Ensures board resolutions are carried out. <br />Acts as spokesperson for the Board. <br />Provides orientation for new members. <br />Works with city staff as necessary. <br />Conducts twice-yearly working sessions with the LCC board and city council. <br />Consults with Board members as necessary. <br />Treasurer: <br />All duties as stated in the bylaws for the LCC. <br />Acts as primary check signer. <br />Acts as liaison to the LCC accountant, providing LCC financial information, and <br />answering any needed questions regarding LCC expenses. <br />Prepares the annual budget which the LCC board will approve, will modify and <br />get approval as needed throughout the year. <br />Advises members on board finances as necessary. <br /> <br />
