City Council Finance Committee
Meeting Minutes
01/18/2011
REVENUE TREND DASHBOARD – JANUARY 12, PROJECTIONS FOR 2010
The Finance Director presented current trend analysis and projections for various
revenue sources summarized in a revenue trend “dashboard” report. The
projections are based on amounts actually received during the first twelve
months of the year plus the estimated accruals for revenue received in 2011 but
earned in 2010.
This report can be located in the packet of the January 18, 2011 Finance
Committee Meeting.
2011 INSURANCE COVERAGE
Deputy City Manager, Heather Balser presented the proposals of One Beacon
Insurance and Traveler’s Insurance for the City’s 2011 property and liability
insurance.
The Deputy City Manager stated that the two proposals included the same
coverage and deductibles as in 2010, but that Traveler’s proposal included cyber
liability and flood coverage with an overall 11% decrease of the City’s premiums.
It was also recommended that the City remain with Pinnocol Assurance for its
Worker’s Compensation coverage. There is only one other provider option and
the rates are usually higher.
The Committee approved the Traveler’s Insurance coverage proposal for 2011-
2012 and continuation of coverage with Pinnocol Assurance.
This report can be located in the packet of the January 18, 2011 Finance
Committee Meeting.
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2010
The Accounting Manager presented very preliminary Financial Statements for the
period ending December 31, 2010. The statements do not reflect year-end
adjustments and accruals. The corresponding narrative can be located in the
packet of the January 18, 2011 Finance Committee Meeting.
Mayor Sisk requested a review of the Northwest Parkway contingent liability to
ensure all costs have been included.
The Mayor also requested a report on the 2010 Capital Projects set for budget
amendment set for April 2011, be presented to the Finance Committee at the
March 2011 meeting.
ì
