Board of Appeals
Page 6
July 19, 1979

complaining about, is going to be utilized even if that house were
not there at all, their view to the west of Washington Ave. is
going to be covered with homes. Now nobody knows whether it's
going to be single, double, or three story homes or what kind of
structures there going to be.

Reed:
crawl

Does that agrapping wall,
space?

is

that a basement, or is that

Ferris:

It's a basement.

Davies:

Any more questions, any more comments?

Ross: Yes. the people writing the notes here and so forth, are they
people taking notes for one particular entity or something else? It
seems like we're getting into a battle here of legalities, I don't
know whats happening here, it worries me, because I don't know.

Well, r'm here from the Longmont Times Call, and I understand that
this was an open meeting.

Ross: O.K.

Welty: And I'm here from the Denver Post.

Ross: Thank you.

Knott: In regards to the comments about the view of Long's Peak.
I never mentioned any particular view, I mentioned the total view,
and I should have it available to me, as under the legalities of the
area, and I ask you to deny the Variance and of those things only.

Davies: Any body else. Very well, we will proceed to vote. We will
vote to vary, or to refuse, provisions of the zoning ordinance so as
to permit reduction of the rear yard setback from the required 25 feet
to 21 feet zero inches on a residence in the City of Louisville known
as 655 W. Hawthorne Street. Secretary call the vote.

Bob Ross-absent, Don Picket-no, Bob Davies-I, Gil Reed-I, Frank
Valasquez-I, Don Ross-no. 3-2

Davies: By your vote, to vary, you have voted 2 opposed and three
yes which makes you lose the hearing. You are denied the variance.
Isn't that correct? Alright, I stand corrected. It takes four to
win. The variance is denied.

How many voting members are on the Board?

Davies:
members.

There are five voting members, and it must pass by four
I'm sorry, this Variance meeting is closed.
