City Council
Study Session Summary
November 14, 2006

Pete Clements, Louisville resident, spoke to Council about a recent situation in his neighborhood
where a loud, daily, early-morning disturbance could not be addressed by the Louisville Police
Department due to the lack of standards contained in the City's current noise ordinance. He
requested that City Council consider adopting an ordinance with stronger, enforceable standards.

Doris Clements stated that senior citizens are sensitive to loud, excessive noises and requested that
City Council consider adopting a stronger noise ordinance to make life more enjoyable for all
Louisville residents.

Doug Grinbergs, Louisville resident, agreed that the City's current noise ordinance could be
strengthened. He questioned the exceptions for Open Space and Golf Course Maintenance
equipment.

Mayor Sisk suggested that a representative of the Police Department attend a future meeting to
discuss the difficulty of enforcing the current noise ordinance.

Mayor Pro Tem Don Brown suggested that members of the Land Management Department and Golf
Course Management also provide information on the impact of limiting the hours they can operate
power equipment and machinery.

City Manager Items
Bill Simmons reviewed agenda items for the November 21, 2006 Regular City Council meeting. He
reminded City Council of the joint study session with the Planning Commission and Revitalization
Commission on November 20, 2006 in the Library meeting room to review the Highway 42 3-D
Modeling.

Heather Balser reported that the City submitted a Denver Regional Council of Governments
(DRCOG) Transportation Improvement Plan $100,000 grant application, which would require a
twenty-percent match from Louisville. The grant would allow the City to conduct a study to look further
at issues around the proposed commuter rail station along Highway 42, such as: access, grade
separation, parking, pedestrian and vehicular connections, etc.

Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

Submitted November 14, 2006
Belinda Dogan-Pishner
