Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />August 21, 2024 <br />Page 4 of 9 <br />Chair Adler expressed support for re -approval of this project. <br />Chair Adler made a motion to approve the $13,880 for the installation and completion of the <br />Greg Fields sculpture project. Commissioner Tofte seconded. Roll call vote: unanimously <br />approved. <br />Public Comment: <br />Louisville Resident Mark Cathcart commented that he was a member of the Cultural Council <br />who proposed bringing this statue to the LRC for funding because the Cultural Council didn't <br />have funding to support the installation. He noted that the lettering in the underpass was <br />designed by the same artist. Mr. Cathcart endorsed this project and encouraged the LRC to <br />approve this project. <br />Discussion and Decision for Approval of Direct Assistance Application for Ironton <br />The Economic Vitality Manager provided an overview of the direct assistance application for <br />Ironton Distillery. The application and supporting documentation were included in the meeting <br />packet. The request to the LRC is to approve moving forward with third party review for this TIF <br />agreement. <br />Andy Jonson with D&J Design was present to answer any questions. <br />Commissioner Iglesias made a motion to approve the application for direct financial assistance <br />for Ironton Distillery third party review not to exceed $20,000. Commissioner Williams seconded. <br />Roll Call Vote: unanimously approved. <br />Commissioner Comments: <br />Commissioner Iglesias asked if Ironton plans on closing the Rino location. The business owner <br />confirmed that this is the intent of this project, to move all operations to Louisville. Commissioner <br />Iglesias asked why Louisville. The business owner commented that his business partner desired <br />moving to a smaller community with access to the interstate system for distribution purposes. <br />He added that the plan had always been to move out of the Rino area, noting that the area is <br />under heavy construction and the property no longer fits the needs of the business. He added <br />that the zoning and location of the property was what they were looking for. Ironton has already <br />been participating in the Street Faire and Farmers Market events in the community. <br />Commissioner Iglesias expressed support for this application. <br />Commissioner Williams agreed with Commissioner Iglesias and expressed support for this <br />application. <br />Chair Adler expressed support for this application. <br />Public Comments: None <br />Discussion and Decision for Approval of Direct Assistance Application for Delo Boom <br />The Economic Vitality Manager provided an overview of the Direct Assistance Application for <br />Delo Boom.
