728 Main Street; specifically, that he agree to participate in a parking district or provide <br />parking at 2 spaces per 1,000 sf. <br /> <br />Erik Hartronft, 801 Main Street, Louisville, stated that Arlin Lehman has worked very <br />hard with the City during this process to keep abreast of the changing environment and <br />ordinances. He stated that in order to include amenities such as public plazas, benches, <br />landscaping, and outdoor eating areas, etc. and to also have the project economically <br />viable, the square footage within the third-story is necessary. He explained that the <br />project does not meet the Commercial Development Design Standards & Guidelines in <br />many respects and cited the lack of stormwater detention ponds and open space as <br />examples. He was then available to answer any questions. <br /> <br />Davidson called for public comments. <br /> <br />Nancy Love, 841 Front Street, Louisville, explained that she is present to discuss this <br />building only because she believes that any decisions Council makes tonight will also <br />affect her project. She encouraged Council to be fair based upon the City Attorney's <br />comments at the last meeting for what could reasonably be expected by an applicant <br />when submitting their application. She did not agree that the Commercial Development <br />Design Standards & Guidelines should apply to downtown Louisville. <br /> <br />Howard was excused (8:30 p.m.). <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council questions and comments. <br /> <br />Sisk asked Lehman how many parking spaces for the building at 908 Main Street would <br />be lost once this project is built. <br /> <br />Lehman explained that he is only one owner in a partnership that owns the building at <br />908 Main Street. He explained that he is leasing the area behind 901-909 Front Street to <br />the occupants of 908 Main Street for parking during construction. The construction ended <br />too late in the fall to sod the area so the lease was continued through April 1999. The <br />occupants leasing this area understand that if the project at 901-909 Front Street is not <br />approved, the parking area will be landscaped. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that the information that was disseminated at the recent Saturday workshop <br />indicated that there were at least 32 parking spaces being provided for 908 Main Street. <br />He asked Lehman if this was true. <br /> <br />Lehman replied, yes. He explained that there are 28 spaces behind 901-909 Front Street <br />plus an additional four more spaces down the alley. <br /> <br />Sisk replied that if the project at 901-909 Front Street were approved, that would result in <br />a loss of 28 parking spaces for 908 Main Street. <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br /> <br />
