Manager Zarate confirmed that they will <br />be added. <br />8. Potential Future Agenda Items: <br />Manager Zarate gave an update on sever items that staff anticipates bringing to <br />the EVC later this year, including the Support Local campaign. <br />Chair Dickinson commented that he appreciates a larger Support Local <br />campaign, and noted that Small Business Saturday by itself is often not <br />enough. He asked whether the program will encourage local support during the <br />slower months when businesses need extra support. <br />Manager Zarate responded that support will be passive (for example, a Happy <br />Dance) in November/December while businesses are busy. But in February <br />when businesses may be struggling, the support will be something intended to <br />bring people to businesses (for example, a scavenger hunt). <br />Public Comment from Liz Connor: Ms. Connor thanked staff and the Committee <br />for a program that will help support Louisville's businesses. She also applauded <br />the idea of extending the program throughout the year. <br />Public Comment from Rebecca Hummel: Ms. Hummel commented that her <br />business often experiences different patterns than other businesses, noting that <br />her best months are during the winter rather than the summer. She also <br />stressed the importance of a year-round programs so that businesses like hers <br />can also receive support. <br />Public Comment from Gillian Millar: Ms. Millar, Executive Director of the <br />Louisville Chamber of Commerce, commented that the Chamber is working with <br />the Superior Chamber to increase their cross -city promotion. She noted that the <br />Chamber also wishes to do this with Lafayette in the future. <br />Councilmember Fahey commented that she often hears that other communities <br />are envious of Louisville's downtown, but agreed that there needs to be more <br />support for small businesses downtown. <br />9. Staff Updates: <br />Chair Dickinson commented that he appreciated the disaster preparedness <br />reminders, as he knows that it's something that his businesses doesn't think <br />about very often. <br />
