There were no comments.
City Manager Simmons explained the Comprehensive Plan is not a one to two
week process. He anticipated the process would begin March of 2007 and noted
the cost of the review would also have to be included in the 2007 budget.
Mayor Pro Tern Brown asked for a cost estimate of the next comp plan review.
City Manager Simmons stated the review would consist of areas within the plan,
and not the entire citywide Comprehensive Plan. He did not anticipate it would
be as costly as the 2005 review as a lot of the previous data could be used.
Mayor Pro Tern Brown asked why the question of the comp plan review date is
before the Council. Mayor Sisk explained he received a request from Council
members to put this item on the agenda.
There was further discussion relative to the next review date of the
Comprehensive Plan.
City Attorney Light outlined the current language of the resolution.
Mayor Sisk suggested language stipulating the Comprehensive Plan Update
would commence on August 1,2007 and be completed by October 31,2007.
Mayor Pro Tern Brown agreed with Mayor Sisk's suggested language and felt the
public outreach should be the start of the Comprehensive Plan Review.
