Schreiter, 111 Rose Street, Louisville, CO addressed Louisville Fire <br /> Protection District Referendum 5A. Schreiter is the Chairperson for Louisville <br /> C.A.R.E.S, a non-profit organization issue committee providing information about <br /> Referendum SA, the 3.5 mill increase in property taxes. He explained the District <br /> is seeking its first tax increase in 28 years and outlined the reasons why the <br /> additional mill increase is needed. He asked Council for their support. <br /> Council member Sackett disclosed his son is a member of the Louisville Fire <br /> Protection District Board of Directors. He recused himself and left the room. <br /> Mayor Sisk stated he supports Louisville Fire Protection District Referendum 5A. <br /> Council member Sackett returned to the meeting. <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a determination on the feasibility of an alternative energy <br /> source for the City Hall remodel and for the new library. City Manager Simmons <br /> stated the process will begin with the building commissioning for the new library. <br /> Mayor Sisk addressed the RTD bus strike and noted the City's Web Site provides <br /> bus service information and a link to the RTD Web Site. He explained Senate <br /> Bill 1 allows 10% of the additional revenues for transportation. Dave Gilman and <br /> Commissioner Will Toor were appointed to the Transportation Committee. <br /> Council member Muckle arrived at 7:14 p.m. <br />
