<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> April 4, 2006 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> PROCLAMATION - CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS & PREVENTION MONTH <br /> Mayor Sisk proclaimed April 2006 as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention <br /> Month in Louisville. He presented the proclamation to Kitty Seargent, Blue Sky <br /> Bridge Education Resource Coordinator. <br /> Kitty Seargent thanked the Mayor and Council for recognizing child abuse <br /> awareness and prevention month. She explained Blue Sky Bridge is a private <br /> non-profit organization serving Boulder County, and is a fully accredited child <br /> advocacy group that conducts interviews and provides family support through the <br /> investigation of child sexual abuse cases. They also provide education <br /> throughout the community and train many County professionals. They are <br /> privately funded through fund raisers, grants and private donations. <br /> PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK <br /> Mayor Sisk proclaimed April 2 - 8, 2006 as National Library Week in Louisville. <br /> He presented the proclamation to Anne Mojo, Library Director, who requested <br /> Library Board of Trustees member Alicia Mahoney, and her son Jacob Skinner, <br /> accept the proclamation. <br /> Ms. Mahoney recognized the Mayor, Council and City Manager Simmons for <br /> engaging the Town of Superior to partner with the City to provide services for <br /> both communities. She thanked Library Director Anne Mojo and her staff. <br /> Carol Purfurst, Library Youth Services Supervisor, outlined the activities planned <br /> at the library. The programs include children's story time, young Rembrandts art <br /> and drawing classes, and teen work shops. April is national poetry month, and on <br /> April 29, a young writers' festival will be held at the Art's Center. She invited the <br /> City's young people to register and enjoy the special events. <br /> Mayor Sisk thanked the Library Board of Trustees, the Library Director, Staff and <br /> Council liaison Sheri Marsella. <br /> RECOGNITION - GIRL SCOUT TROOP COMMENDATION <br /> MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved the recognition of the Girl Scout Troop be <br /> continued to April 18, 2006, second Council member Sackett. All in favor. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 15, SERIES 2006 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FINAL <br /> SUBDIVISION REPLA T FOR THE THIRD REPLA T OF THE COAL CREEK <br /> MEMORIAL CEMETERY SUBDIVISION <br />
