<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> April 18, 2006 <br /> Page 13 of 16 <br />Mayor Sisk reported an email was received from a former Council member who <br />was not in favor of hiring the position. <br />Mayor Sisk voiced his concern over the salary range and suggested negotiating <br />a salary for the ideal candidate. <br />MOTION: Council member Sackett moved to authorize the Staff to create a new <br />full-time position of Economic Development Coordinator, funded through the <br />economic development budget and to recruit and hire a staff member to fill the <br />position. Council member Yarnell seconded the motion. All in favor. <br />RESOLUTION No. 16, SERIES 2006 - A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 2006 <br />BUDGET BY INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL FUND AND <br />CONSERVATION TRUST -LAND ACQUISITION FUND FOR THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO (advertised Daily Camera 4/16/06) <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Finance Director Leslie reviewed Resolution 15, Series 2006, which authorizes <br />an amendment to the 2006 budget. The two separate appropriation requests are <br />as follows: <br /> 2006 2006 Amended <br />Fund Appropriation Addition Addition Appropriation <br />General Fund $13,213,761 $39,309 $12,000 $13,265,070 <br />Conservation Trust- <br />Land Acquisition Fund $ 3,838,351 $15,000 $ 3,853,351 <br />The first request is for the General Fund. The $39,309 additional request in the <br />General Fund is a transfer of appropriations made with Resolution No. 12, Series <br />2006 on March 7,2006 to the Capital Projects Fund. Three items: police <br />uniforms - $14,927, DRCOG Hwy 42 - $19,597, and Microfilming - $4,783 were <br />carry-forward items from 2005 but were incorrectly appropriated for in the Capital <br />Projects fund. <br />The second item in the General Fund is for $12,000 to purchase new books for <br />the new library. These items were originally cut from the 2006 budget, however; <br />since sales tax collections in the General Fund came in $199,532 higher than <br />forecasted due to a one-time collection of special assessment revenue, the City <br />would like to request this purchase be reinstated in the 2006 Library budget. <br />The second request is for a $15,000 increase in the appropriations of the <br />Conservation Trust - Land Acquisition Fund. This is for a vehicle for the new <br />horticulturist position. The revenues for the increased appropriations will come <br />
