Approve Allocation of Funds to ZVC for Web Site Development <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown arrived at 7:02 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Eric Tussey, 647 W. Juniper Court, louisville, CO addressed Xcel Energy's <br />proposed coal power plant in Pueblo, CO. He referred to a newspaper article <br />outlining the increase in energy cost and the environmental pollution associated <br />with the project. He asked Council to support the Louisville residents and <br />businesses who oppose Xcel Energy's proposal. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked Mr. Tussey if other municipalities have been <br />approached. Mr. Tussey thought the City of Boulder had been notified. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown suggested the issue be brought before DRCOG. Council <br />member Muckle suggested the CML. be contacted as well. <br />Mayor Sisk announced the authors' of Frommer's 2006 Travel Guide, Bert <br />Sperling and Peter Sander, named the City of Louisville as the number one place <br />in the United States to raise a family. He congratulated the Louisville residents. <br />Council member Clabots announced the Louisville Senior Center will have a <br />Senior Luncheon on Wednesday, May 17, to celebrate Older Americans Month. <br />Mayor Sisk reported the May 23 Study Session has been cancelled. The City <br />Council will attend the Boulder County Commissioners hearing on the Xcel <br />Energy Compressor Station application. He voiced concern the secondary Dillon <br />Road site would negatively impact the St. Louis Church property. <br />City Manager Simmons stated the City Staff has contacted the Archdioceses and <br />Avista Hospital. Assistant City Manager Balser noted the Boulder County Staff is <br />working on their recommendation for the preferred site for the station. <br />City Manager Simmons explained after the hearing, and a preferred site is <br />selected, Staff and the City's consultant will discuss specific conditions for each <br />site. Mayor Pro Tem Brown voiced his confidence in the City's consultant. <br />Mayor Sisk reported on a letter received from Fire Chief Tim Parker and the <br />Louisville Fire Protection District, thanking the Mayor and Council for their <br />support of the bond issue. Mayor Sisk congratulated Chief Parker and the <br />Louisville Fire Protection District on a successful election. <br />
