City Council Meeting Minutes May 16, 2006 Page 3 of 12 REGULAR BUSINESS ORDINANCE No. 1491, SERIES 2006 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17.48 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - 2nd reading - public hearing (advertised Daily Camera 5/6/05) Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. City Attorney Durfee read Ordinance No. 1491, Series 2006. Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. Planning Director Wood explained in the January 2006 interview process for City Boards and Commissions, Council discussed creating an associate or alternate member to the Board of Adjustment. The consensus of Council was there could be some public benefit in having an associate member, who could fill in as a voting member in the absence of one or more regular members of the BOA. The Staff and the City Attorney's office drafted an ordinance amending Chapter 17.48 to create the additional associate member and made some other minor modifications to portions of 17.48. The Planning Commission reviewed the proposal on April 13, 2006 and forwarded a recommendation of approval to City Council on all proposed modifications. The BOA Board reviewed the draft regulations on March 15 and recommend approval of the ordinance. Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested public comment. There were no comments. Mayor Sisk closed the public hearing. MOTION: Council member Muckle moved to approve Ordinance No. 1491, Series 2006, seconded by Council member Clabots. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 7-0.
