<br /> City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> May 16, 2006 <br /> Page 3 of 12 <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />ORDINANCE No. 1491, SERIES 2006 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 17.48 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - 2nd reading - public hearing (advertised Daily <br />Camera 5/6/05) <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />City Attorney Durfee read Ordinance No. 1491, Series 2006. <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Planning Director Wood explained in the January 2006 interview process for City <br />Boards and Commissions, Council discussed creating an associate or alternate <br />member to the Board of Adjustment. The consensus of Council was there could <br />be some public benefit in having an associate member, who could fill in as a <br />voting member in the absence of one or more regular members of the BOA. <br />The Staff and the City Attorney's office drafted an ordinance amending Chapter <br />17.48 to create the additional associate member and made some other minor <br />modifications to portions of 17.48. The Planning Commission reviewed the <br />proposal on April 13, 2006 and forwarded a recommendation of approval to City <br />Council on all proposed modifications. The BOA Board reviewed the draft <br />regulations on March 15 and recommend approval of the ordinance. <br />Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested public comment. There <br />were no comments. Mayor Sisk closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION: Council member Muckle moved to approve Ordinance No. 1491, <br />Series 2006, seconded by Council member Clabots.
