<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> October 17,2006 <br /> Page 3 of 12 <br /> City Manager Simmons stated the ordinance that was tabled addressed <br /> recreational vehicles, boats and boat trailers. There is an inoperable vehicle <br /> ordinance on the books and if the citizens had questions on enforcement of such, <br /> they could contact himself or Chief Goodman. <br /> Mayor Sisk spoke to the issue of the use of the water bills for mailings and plans <br /> to review with staff. <br /> City Manager Simmons and City Attorney Light addressed the issue of the Open <br /> Space Advisory Committee doing field trips and the open meetings law. Light <br /> stated perhaps there was a procedure where a site inspection could occur <br /> without any decisions or discussions being made about public policy. Attorney <br /> Light will prepare a memo to address this issue. <br /> Mayor Sisk reported a meeting is being held next week with Colorado <br /> Department of Transportation and R.TD on transportation issues concerning <br /> US 36/McCaslin Blvd. He asked Council members to attend if they were able as <br /> he senses delays in the corridor improvements. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> UPDATE - LOUISVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL, ADAM FELS PRINCIPAL <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a presentation. <br /> Adam Fels, Principal of Louisville Middle School provided City Council with an <br /> update on current enrollment; student achievements; programming updates and <br /> parent education. He expressed appreciation to Council member Brown and <br /> members of staff for helping to add YMCA programs at no additional cost to <br /> students. Fels commended the Police Department for their presence and <br /> support on a regular basis and especially during the recent tragic school <br /> incidents across the nation. He thanked the Council for their support of the local <br /> schools. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> Council member Marsella asked about the improvements to the middle school <br /> should 3A pass. Fels stated they are looking to rebuild the auditorium and <br /> library. He also would like to maintain the school's fagade. <br /> Council member Muckle thanked Mr. Fels for his leadership at the school and <br /> asked about creating close connections to each student. Mr. Fels reported they <br /> do have a program in place to build relationships with the students. <br />
