<br />Summer Day Camp Registration
<br />Grades K-5 1 June 6-August 5 (3 three-week sessions)
<br />Summer "Play" Day Camp is a full -day traditional camp
<br />for children currently in grades K-5 (proof of grade
<br />required) and has the perfect mix of structured and
<br />child -directed activities. Camps run Monday -Friday
<br />from 8 AM - 4:30 PM and consists of three 3-week
<br />sessions.This camp traditionally fills very fast, and
<br />registration is through a lottery system.To be entered
<br />into the lottery, Louisville Residents need to drop off
<br />their forms between March 1 - 8.

<br />Register Now for the 2022-2023 Preschool Program
<br />Looking for a part-time preschool program that is
<br />educational, fun, and nurturing? Registration begins is
<br />now open for the 2022-2023 school year for
<br />children ages 3-5 by 9/30/22.This state -licensed
<br />program, based at Louisville Recreation & Senior
<br />Center, is designed to meet young children's
<br />academic, social, and physical needs by providing a
<br />stimulating, safe and healthy environment. The
<br />classrooms offer floor -to -ceiling windows with views
<br />of the Front Range and a unique outdoor
<br />learning space. In addition, the program's location in
<br />the Recreation & Senior Center provides a real
<br />community feel and expanded program options.
<br />Morning and afternoon classes are offered on
<br />Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.

<br />Memory Square Outdoor Pool Opens
<br />Saturday, May 28
<br />Memory Square outdoor pool will open for the
<br />summer season Saturday, May 28, and will be available
<br />for open swim and lap swim through late September.
<br />Private rentals are available on Friday, Saturday, and
<br />Sunday evenings. Please see the website for hours of

<br />Now Hiring Lifeguards!
<br />Being a lifeguard is a rewarding summer job where
<br />you can work with your friends, have a flexible
<br />schedule, and learn new skills. Plus, we will train you!
<br />The Louisville Recreation and Senior Center will be
<br />holding American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
<br />classes for ages 15+ on March 19-21, March 25-27,
<br />and April 22-24. All applicants will need to perform a
<br />water skills pre -test before the beginning of their class.
<br />This skills test involves a 300-meter continuous swim,
<br />swimming a length of the pool to retrieve a 10Ib brick
<br />from the deep end and swim it back, and a 2-minute
<br />tread with hands out of the water. Register on the

<br />Louisville Senior Services at the Recreation & Senior
<br />Center currently offers a variety of trips, classes, and
<br />activities, as well as Brooks Cafe indoor dining and
<br />Grab N Go lunch. In addition, senior resources help in
<br />the areas of transportation, housing, legal assistance,
<br />financial guidance, and medical equipment loans are
<br />also available by contacting Katie Tofte, Community

<br />Celebrate Older Americans Month
<br />Every May, the Administration for Community
<br />Living leads our nation's observance of Older
<br />Americans Month. The theme for 2022 is "Age My
<br />Way", an opportunity for all of us to explore the many
<br />ways older adults can remain in and be involved with
<br />their communities. Be sure to check out the Recreation
<br />& Senior Center's May Catalog for information on a
<br />celebration event!
<br />Plant Sale - May 14
<br />Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 14 at 8 AM
<br />(until sold out) for the Annual Bloomin Seniors Plant
<br />Sale at the Recreation & Senior Center. There are a
<br />variety of flowers, vegetables, and herbs to start your
<br />summer garden!

<br />Davidson Mesa Trail Improvement Project
<br />The Davidson Mesa trail resurfacing project is sched-
<br />uled to begin as soon as weather permits. The project
<br />includes the repair, resurfacing, and replacement of
<br />3.6 miles of existing crusher fine trails on Davidson
<br />Mesa Open Space. Trails are being renovated to meet
<br />their existing footprint and will include both 10.5' and
<br />8' trails that will accommodate the City's multi -modal
<br />use policy and emergency vehicle access. Additionally,
<br />the .3 mile section of trail along the north side of the
<br />property, overlooking Boulder, which was initially 4'
<br />wide, will be officially widened to 8'. During
<br />construction, sections of the trails will be closed. For

<br />City Continues Partnership with Bridge House
<br />Ready to Work Program
<br />In 2021, the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Depart-
<br />ment was awarded the "Community Service Partner of
<br />the Year Award"for their work with Bridge House and
<br />their Ready to Work program. Ready to Work offers
<br />adults experiencing homelessness a unique
<br />opportunity to rebuild their lives through work.
<br />Trainees learn job skills, earn and save money, build
<br />a rental and work history for one year as a stepping-
<br />stone to permanent work and housing. The
<br />department is excited to continue their contract with
<br />Bridge House in 2022 to assist with this year's projects.
