Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
January 27, 2025
Point of sale conversion per David's email last week. Another email will
confirm when this is launched. This application will allow golfers to track
their use, receive communications from gold course staff, etc. Lisa asked
if we are still using golf genius? David responded that this function is built
into this new application.
• Director Updates — Adam Blackmore
David will be leaving his position in early March as he is retiring. He will
likely not be at our February meeting. His position was advertised today
nationwide. His replacement will oversee both golf course maintenance
and operation. Interviews start February 19, Minimum qualifications are
posted online.
City Council met tonight and agreed to hire Diana Langley as the new city
manager. She will start in about two months. Very competitive selection
process. Diana has excellent project management and public utility
engineering skills.
Long range plan: consolidated list of consultants for building trails master
plan and Cottonwood Park improvements. Have reviewed bids and
identified one consultant to propose to City Council on February 18.
New construction contract will be proposed to Council next week for two
city parks, Enclave and Sunflower, lost to Marshall Fire.
Board Updates
• 2025 City Council Presentation (to be presented to City Council
March 11) and Power Point and Council Communications — Lisa
Lisa reported that the RAB workplan has not changed much since last
year. Not much alignment between our workplan and City Council's
priorities. She suggests reorganizing our priorities if we do not have new
ones to add. Michele asked if we should focus on other needs as we have
not had success in getting support from City Council for a new clubhouse?
Dick suggested we use his proposal discussed earlier to show that
clubhouse revenue could help pay for itself over time. RAB members
reviewed our slides from last year's presentation and identified some
revisions. The RAB agreed that a slide highlighting Dick's proposal could
be informative for City Council. We also agreed that some level of City
funding is important to maintain rather than only looking to sources outside
the City's budget.
• Outdoor Rec Amenities Update
