Lathrop stated that the recent high winds have caused several buildings to lose shingles <br />and questioned whether the proposed composition shingles would be of sufficient weight <br />to withstand high winds. <br /> <br />Haisfield agreed to address that issue in the construction drawings. <br /> <br />Lathrop commended the applicant on the appearance of the buildings. <br /> <br /> Keany arrived. <br /> <br />Howard stated that the drive-through appears to be facing Lot lB and the Outback <br />Restaurant, and expressed concern that glare from car headlights does not affect other <br />lots. <br /> <br />Haisfield replied that they eliminated some of the parking spaces in order to install <br />additional trees and shrubs for screening. <br /> <br />Howard asked for the average height of the shrubs at maturity. <br /> <br />Wood replied that the evergreen shrubs would be approximately five-and-a-half feet tall <br />at maturity, and the lilacs would be approximately four-and-a-half feet tall at maturity. <br /> <br />Howard commended the applicant for the improvements made to the plan. <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, asked Haisfield if there were individual cut-out letters <br />in the sign plan, and whether the sign criteria is specified on the PUD. <br /> <br />Haisfield replied that there are individual cut-out letters in the sign; but he was uncertain <br />whether or not it was specified on the PUD. <br /> <br />Wood replied that the sign criteria are not specified on the PUD, however, it should be. <br />Simmons asked if the method of lighting is specified on the PUD. <br /> <br />Wood replied that staff is requesting translucent sign faces and no visible neon tubes. <br />Davidson asked whether the overall PUD specified the use for this lot. <br /> <br />Wood replied, no. <br /> <br />Davidson asked whether the temporary landscaping that the Outback Restaurant installed <br />would be replaced in another area of their lot. <br /> <br />Wood replied that the landscaping is located approximately where the eight-foot island <br />buffer is located. <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br /> <br />
