Appeals/hearings <br />would be held as needed. <br />Board recommendations for using the 2024 Cohort Energy Code for <br />Residential and Commercial code or the 2024 IECC original version with <br />possible amendments — <br />Municipalities will need to adopt the State WUI code (around the beginning of <br />2026) and State Carbon Code (June 2026 must adopt), and the State <br />Electrification Code. <br />Staff plan is to bring and ordinance to City Council to adopt all 2024 Codes, <br />except for the 2024 Energy Code, and bring the 2024 Energy Code as a <br />separate ordinance afterwards pending a decision/recommendation by the <br />BCBOA and staff. <br />Council would like to see electrification in part if not complete electrification. <br />$600,000 grant from DRCOG for Louisville to use 2024 IECC; must adopt by <br />October; City would use grant to hire staff to do energy reviews and inspections. <br />Staff would like Board recommendation for adoption of one of two Energy Code <br />adoptions: <br />• 2024 IECC Code <br />O 2024 IECC - can use gas appliances, similar to our existing code <br />but must be high efficiency; Cohort cannot= more strict. <br />o Could adopt as is and/or with minor modifications/amendments. <br />• Cohort proposal is to adopt entire 2024 IECC code with specific <br />amendments/modifications. <br />o decarbonization and point system (PT system) <br />o Cohort — took energy code and points to demonstrate efficiency <br />and must have xx number of points to use gas appliances to hit the <br />target. <br />
