Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 8, 2025 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />Commissioner Discussion: <br />Hunt said she thought the requests were reasonable, and was in support. <br />Bangs agreed. <br />Moline said he was in support. <br />Mihaly said that he was supportive, and thought that the waivers were minor enough to <br />be reasonable. <br />Choi said that he was in support. <br />Brauneis said that he still had some concerns about the wall sign, but was ultimately in <br />support. <br />Motion to approve Resolution 7, Series 2025, was moved by Mihaly and seconded by <br />Bangs. The motion was adopted by a vote of 6 to 0. <br />c. Parking Minimums Code Amendment - Resolution 8, Series 2025 recommending <br />to the City Council approval of an ordinance amending Title 17 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code (LMC) concerning parking minimums for multifamily and adaptive <br />reuse development to comply with HB24-1304. <br />Staff Presentation: <br />Post introduced the presentation for the ordinance. He said that the change was required <br />to bring the City into compliance with a new state law that prohibited minimum parking <br />requirements in some circumstances. He outlined the parts of the city were parking <br />minimums would no longer be permitted, and how the new policy would be implemented. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommended approval of Resolution 8, Series 2025. <br />Commissioner Questions of Staff. <br />Hunt asked whether the City can still apply its EV charging and accessibility requirements <br />if developers choose to provide parking spaces. <br />Post said yes. <br />Brauneis asked whether the 228 bus met the definition of frequent transit. <br />Post said no because it only ran every 60 minutes instead of the 30 minute standard set <br />by the legislation. <br />Brauneis asked whether a private shuttle that met the requirements could be considered <br />a transit service. <br />Post said that this was considered by DOLA and could factor into the transit service area. <br />Bangs asked about the number of units that could be added with a reduced number of <br />parking spaces. <br />
