Approve Cancellation of the July 26, 2011 City Council Study Session PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Connie Lythgoe, 2049 LaSalle Street, Superior, CO explained she is a member of the Monarch Swim Team. She asked Council to encourage the Louisville Recreation Center to schedule the swim team practice time in the afternoon or after school. Kyle Suleskei, 569 Briggs Place, Superior, CO stated he has been a member of the Monarch Swim Team for three years. He also requested the City Council work with the Recreation Center to establish after school practice time. He stated currently the practices are at 4:30 a.m. three times a week and it is difficult for him to get enough rest to perform well in school. Amy Lythgoe, 2049 LaSalle Street, Superior, CO distributed information to Council members and explained she is a member of the Monarch Swim Team Committee. She requested Council encourage the Recreation Center to change the time for swim team practice to the afternoon. She stated the focus should be on teenage scholars rather than teenage athletes. Lisa Monette, 2168 Imperial Lane, Superior, CO stated she is a parent of recent Monarch graduate and swim team member. She stated many students who wish to participate on a swim team transfer to another school, where the practice times are in the afternoon. She asked Council to work with the Recreation Center to be flexible. Carol Burkett, 2059 LaSalle Street, Superior, CO stated she is a parent of recent Monarch student graduate, who did not participate on the swim team because of the 5:00 a.m. practice time. She felt her daughter's high school experience would have been enhanced if she would have been a swim team participant. Tina Suleski, 569 Briggs Place, Superior, CO stated she is Kyle's mother and also requested a more flexible time for the swim team practice. COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Councilor Dalton requested Council review the scheduling of the pool at the Louisville Recreation Center and the Memory Square outdoor swimming pool.
