Bonnie working on <br />ideas for a restaurant in this location. <br /> Louisville Delivers – an idea by Pete Pflum of the Porch Deli to partner with other <br />restaurants in Louisville to offer food via a delivery service. <br /> Big Lots closing after Christmas. The 30,000 square foot building will be available February <br />1, 2012. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS – <br />th <br />City Manager Fleming will be presenting the 2012 proposed budget at the October 4 Council <br />th <br />Meeting, and on October 11 a special meeting is scheduled to discuss the budget, public hearing <br />thst <br />scheduled at the October 18 Council Meeting. On November 1, Council will have final action on <br />the budget. The annual budget is the largest policy of the year that City Council takes action. <br />Councilor Ron Sackett summarized the Ward III meeting held this last week. A hot topic was the <br />McCaslin/Washington crossing and City Council has approved an underpass at this location, but <br />construction cannot begin until the City has budgeted the money to support the project. Design for <br />the McCaslin/Dillon intersection work is planned for this year with construction planned for 2012. <br />Member Rob Lathrop said he had been out to Steel Ranch and approximately 15 foundations have <br />been poured, the park is complete and there are sold signs on lots. The activity is impressive. <br />Jill Midgley asked how do you make a decision on which underpass you fund; South Street or <br />McCaslin & Washington? There has been a public outcry for the McCaslin/Washington crossing. <br />Malcolm commented that it’s a juggling act to balance the budgets. <br />Dana Alford, Centennial Valley representative, gave an update on the progress to date of the <br />Centennial Valley Merchants group. The board meets weekly. There is an issue with identity in <br />the Centennial Valley. There are 170 consumer businesses with 30-80 other kinds of employers. <br />Landscaping and visibility is the #1 concern.
