Award Bid - New Tree Plantings
Appointment to the Louisville Resource Conservation Advisory Board
Appointments to the Louisville Historical Preservation Task Force
Bid for Sports Complex Dugouts
NCWCD Southern Water Supply Capacity Increase-Letter of
Participation

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, addressed several issues of concern to the
Council. He stated that he was opposed to the poisoning and relocating of prairie dogs
and was concerned about water and lake pollution. Mr. Grinbergs noted that the type of
industrial street lighting used in Louisville is too bright and that he was also concerned
about the noise pollution from airplanes and jets from the neighboring Jeffco Airport.

Ronda Grassi, 916 Main Street, stated that she is the President of the Downtown Business
Association, and wished to speak on downtown parking issues. She noted that the DBA
believes the Business Improvement District is very important for downtown Louisville.
She asked that the City allow the DBA to establish some sort of parking permit program
for the downtown area that would have a minimal administrative fee. A database could
be established from the permit fees and an analysis made of the parking needs. She
stated that the DBA is hopeful the Council will support the downtown-parking program.

Eric Hartronft, 801 Main Street, stated that he also wished to address the downtown
parking issue. He stated that many members of the DBA were discouraged by Council's
reception of their proposal, and that he was concerned the Business Improvement District
may not go forward. Mr. Hartronft gave a brief history of DBA efforts in addressing the
downtown parking problems and asked the Council to help the downtown businesses
resolve these issues.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON
THE AGENDA

Mayer stated that the City has actually done a great deal to advance parking for the
downtown businesses. He noted that both the City and the DBA have tried to proceed
with this project and that the City is currently conducting an analysis of the traffic
circulation pattern in the downtown area. He stated that there are ways for the City and
DBA to move ahead and that he is willing to work with the Downtown Business
Association to resolve these issues.

Howard stated that he concurred with Councilman Mayer that the City had done much to
advance parking for the downtown businesses. He stated that he felt the parking problem
is a result of the expansion of the downtown area. He voiced his concern that the
taxpayers of Louisville would be asked to pay for resolving the downtown parking
