<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 3, 2005 <br />Page 14 of 16 <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council member Keany asked if the project included any resurfacing from Coal <br />Creek to the Hwy 42/96th Street Connection. Public Works Director Phare stated <br />there is a small gap between what will be built in this project and what will be <br />done on the 96th Street Project. He estimated that could be covered in the <br />project expenses, identified as a possible change order. <br /> <br />Council member Keany asked if the City has worked with ABCO. Public Works <br />Director Phare stated the City worked with ABCO approximately two years ago. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Keany moved that Council award bid for the 2005 <br />Street Reconstruction and Concrete Replacement Project to ABCO Contracting, <br />Inc., in the amount of $2,144,954. Council member Levihn seconded the <br />motion. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 6-0. Absent- <br />Council member Brown. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Phare reported on the closing of Front Street and County <br />Road. They will be paved within the next few weeks. <br /> <br />UPDATE - lOUISVlllE PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd reported that work has begun on the shoring for <br />the library basement foundation. The drilling placement of H-beams has been <br />completed on the north side of the lot, and will continue on the east and west <br />sides. Dirt is stockpiled on the site and will be hauled as soon as weather <br />permits. Wet weather prevented work on the site on April 28 and 29. On <br />Wednesday, April 27, the contractor hit two unmarked utility lines, one for Qwest <br />and one for Comcast. Work has begun on repairing and relocating those lines. <br />A Qwest line on the south property line must be relocated due to the placement <br />of the basement shoring in that location. The estimated cost for replace the line <br />is $13,366.35, which will come from the building contingency fund. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Library Director Anne Mojo for an update on the Library Board <br />and Foundation. Library Director Mojo stated the Library Foundation is working <br />on ideas for marketing and fund raising. Mayor Sisk reminded Council that a <br />policy should be considered for solicitation of funds for various foundations <br />through the City's utility billing. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported the law firm of Baker and Hostetler, LLP has filed a <br />motion in the Boulder County District Court to set aside the order for a default <br />judgment in the case of The City of Louisville, Colorado and Nancy Varra, City <br />Clerk v. Capitol Resources Corp. This case involved open records request for <br />
