City Council Meeting Minutes July 19, 2005 Page 9 of 9 City Manager Simmons reported the City Hall remodel has been calculated as a $1.5 Million dollars project. Phase I will consist of the following: a new HVAC system, combining Planning and Building Department, and bringing Information Systems and Human Resources Departments back to the City Hall. A review of the 2006 budget will determine revenues for the project. Mayor Sisk asked how much is available for the remodel. Finance Director Leslie stated there are $386,000 in 2005 Capital Projects and $200,000 available from the police building budget. Mayor Sisk stressed the importance of Council making a decision on remodel project. Council member Van Pelt concurred and asked if the project can be initiated in 2005 and 2006 budget funds allocated to complete the project. She suggested the City Shops Building renovation be delayed. Council member Levihn agreed the project should go forward and opposed paying rent for offices when there are empty offices in the City hall. City Manager Simmons requested that both projects be funded. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Mayor Sisk reported on a meeting that he and Assistant City Administrator for Governmental Relations Heather Balser attended at Boulder County regarding Tax Incentive Financing (TIF) on property taxes. He also reported on a meeting with the Town of Superior on the Biella/Menkick property. ADJOURN Council member Van Pelt moved for adjournment. Council member Levihn secondqthe motion.
