City Council Meeting Minutes January 3, 2011 Page 13 of 14 PUBLIC COMMENTS Michael Menaker noted the gateway sign in the Steel Ranch was a condition of the Takoda Metro District. Councilor Keany stated Lafayette residents have complained about the construction noise from the North End development. Mr. Kipfer noted the hours of construction are a requirement of the subdivision agreement. He was only aware of one complaint, but stated they have been diligent to adhere to the hours of construction. Councilor Keany inquired about the phasing of the commercial component and whether there are any potential tenants. Mr. Kipfer explained the infrastructure will be put in first. Markel Homes is currently working with Economic Development Director Bonnie Star and commercial brokers to find potential tenants. Mayor Muckle requested public comment. There were no further public comments. MOTION: Councilor Yarnell moved to approve Resolution No. 3, Series 2012, seconded by Councilor Loo. All were in favor. DISTRIBUTION OF 2012 OPEN GOVERNMENT PAMPHLET City Manager Fleming explained the pamphlet is to be provided to each member of a public body at its first meeting of the calendar year. It is available to citizens on the City's web site, City Hall, City Library and other public places, and at meetings of public bodies. Councilors were given a copy of the 2012 Open Government Pamphlet. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT City Attorney Light explained the Charter requires City Council members to attend one Open Government Training at least once every two years. The 2012 Training has been scheduled for Monday, January 30 and the facilitator will be Scott Krob. Council questions or issues can be forwarded to City Attorney Light to ensure the training can be focused on what would be most helpful. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilor Keany stated all the meetings of public bodies are public and posted. ADJOURN MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved for adjournment, seconded by Councilor Dalton. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 p.m.
