City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> January 3, 2011 <br /> Page 13 of 14 <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Michael Menaker noted the gateway sign in the Steel Ranch was a condition of the <br /> Takoda Metro District. <br /> Councilor Keany stated Lafayette residents have complained about the construction <br /> noise from the North End development. Mr. Kipfer noted the hours of construction are a <br /> requirement of the subdivision agreement. He was only aware of one complaint, but <br /> stated they have been diligent to adhere to the hours of construction. <br /> Councilor Keany inquired about the phasing of the commercial component and whether <br /> there are any potential tenants. Mr. Kipfer explained the infrastructure will be put in first. <br /> Markel Homes is currently working with Economic Development Director Bonnie Star <br /> and commercial brokers to find potential tenants. <br /> Mayor Muckle requested public comment. There were no further public comments. <br /> MOTION: Councilor Yarnell moved to approve Resolution No. 3, Series 2012, <br /> seconded by Councilor Loo. All were in favor. <br /> DISTRIBUTION OF 2012 OPEN GOVERNMENT PAMPHLET <br /> City Manager Fleming explained the pamphlet is to be provided to each member of a <br /> public body at its first meeting of the calendar year. It is available to citizens on the <br /> City's web site, City Hall, City Library and other public places, and at meetings of public <br /> bodies. Councilors were given a copy of the 2012 Open Government Pamphlet. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> City Attorney Light explained the Charter requires City Council members to attend one <br /> Open Government Training at least once every two years. The 2012 Training has been <br /> scheduled for Monday, January 30 and the facilitator will be Scott Krob. Council <br /> questions or issues can be forwarded to City Attorney Light to ensure the training can <br /> be focused on what would be most helpful. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilor Keany stated all the meetings of public bodies are public and posted. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved for adjournment, seconded by Councilor Dalton. <br /> All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 9:17 p.m. <br />
