Memorandum
To: Historical Commission
From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator
Date: February 7, 2012
Re: Museum Coordinator’s Report
The new, expanded hours of the Historical Museum are every Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Saturday from 10:00 to 3:00, effective January 25, 2012. This more than doubles the previous
monthly open hours.
The Brown Bag presentations for 2012 will take place on the first Thursday of March, June,
September, and December from 12:00 to 1:00 in the Louisville Public Library meeting room.
The first one, on Thursday, March 1, will have the same theme as the Winter 2012 Louisville
Historian, which is about Louisville’s Bachelor Club and how couples used to meet each other
(and how they meet today).
On behalf of the Historical Commission, Dave Ferguson presented the Commission’s Pioneer
th
Award to George Brown at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet on January 26.
For the fourth quarter of 2011, the Commission collected net sales taxes in the amount of
$122 for the City of Louisville and $171 for the State of Colorado.
As a reminder, the Historical Commission’s study session with City Council is tentatively set
th
for the evening of Tuesday, June 12.
Museum Visitors Report (these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, and not inquiries
that come in by email or phone): January visitors: 96.
