Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 6, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE — Bonnie Star noted: <br />• Database Manufacturer on Colorado <br />• Metro Denver Partnership resulted in 19 responses to proposals in 2011 <br />• Grain Elevator Demo Permit has been requested. We have 180 days to negotiate a solution or the <br />structure may be demolished. <br />• Carol Hanson is working to amend current liquor ordinance to allow brew pubs <br />• The Safeway redevelopment proposal scheduled for Thursday, February 9th at 6:30 PM Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />• CTC Building on South Taylor sold. To ServPro. Closed Jan 24. <br />• BAP package will be considered by City Council on Feb 7 for Pearl Izumi <br />• Boulder Wind is reviewing a proposed lease for building on Boxelder. <br />• Food Incubator has submitted a BAP application. <br />RETENTION MEETINGS — <br />Boulder Creek Builders — John Benedetti spoke of the positive feedback received at the <br />retention meeting regarding the Boulder Creek Builders' Steel Ranch development. David <br />Sinkey spoke of Boulder Creek Builders' desire to continue this relationship and growth with <br />the City of Louisville. <br />Voltage — John Benedetti shared about the owner Eric Fowles who is a Louisville resident and <br />well as the company's growth and success. The company has been there 6 years. <br />RE -SET DATE FOR SEPTEMBER BRaD MEETING — The conflict of the Monday, September 3, <br />2012 meeting being scheduled on Labor Day was discussed. Hank Dalton motioned to change <br />the meeting to Tuesday, September 4, 2012, Shelley Angell seconded the motion and the <br />committee approved the motion. <br />The consideration of re -setting the July 2, 2012 meeting will be brought up again at the May 7, <br />2012 meeting. <br />PRESENTATION BY MARY ANN HEANEY - LOUISVILLE SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY BOARD <br />Livable City Concepts and Opportunities for Louisville - Mary Ann Heaney presented a <br />slideshow sharing positive goals for bringing the residents of Louisville together and benefits of <br />these goals to the environment and the economy. She shared opportunities to reach these <br />goals. The committee members asked questions. There was a question relevant to the Open <br />Space Advisory Board and Hank Dalton suggested communicating with them directly. <br />DISCUSSION OF QUESTIONS FOR CITIZEN'S SURVEY — Bonnie Star opened by asking for <br />comments and/or questions on the survey. <br />
