Horticulture & Forestry Advisory Board Minutes Thursday, March 1, 2012 Spruce Room—City Hall 749 Main Street 7:00 PM I.Call to Order—Chair Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. II. Roll call—Board members present: Shelly Alm, Mike Frontczak, Kimberly Heestand, Meredith Preston-Eddy, Theresa Rounds, Ellen Toon, Beverlee White. Board member absent: Matt Tepe. Staff members present: Dean Johnson, ChrisLichty, Troy Russ. City Council member present: Susan Loo. III.The agenda was approved by all members. IV.The minutes from the February 2, 2012 meeting were approved. V.Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda—No public present. Susan reported that a draft of the Louisville Citizen Survey has been completed, contains two questions regarding the Arboretum, and is available for review on the City website under “Special Meetings, Feb 28.” VI.2012 Comprehensive Plan Update—Troy Russ, Director of Planning. The Comprehensive Plan is updated every three years. As part of the effort to create a concise, clear vision statement, staff is soliciting input from all volunteer boards and interested citizens. Discussion ensued regarding the City’s core values as reflected in the vision statement, and how the Plan establishes a framework for regulatory action. One example is the development of a landscaping standard for commercial developments in Louisville. As the update process continues, the City website will be available for residents to communicate their comments and concerns.
