<br />VII.Tennis Center Landscape Review—Chris reviewed the landscape plan and discussed <br />the main aspects of the design, including the use of mostly native and/or drought- <br />tolerant plants; using fewer plants to accommodate their size at maturity; and <br />maintaining only the trail corridor in order to reduce maintenance costs. <br />VIII.Coal Creek Golf Course tree work—Chris reported that Council has adopted the Golf <br />Course improvement plan. In order to improve course playability and safety, many <br />dead, overgrown, or undesirable trees will be removed or pruned. 147 trees are slated <br />for pruning or removal by a contractor, and replanting of some areas will take place <br />through this fall. <br />Tree planting is scheduled for Thursday, April 19 <br />IX.Arbor Day 2012— at Louisville <br />Middle School, time tba. Chris will apply for a CTC grant to purchase the trees. <br />X.Library Talks 2012—Discussion of possible dates and subjects for a talk by Carol <br />O’Meara; and a talk/demonstration of tree pruning techniques by Chris Lichty. <br />Beverlee suggested possible fundraising activities involving a presentation by New <br />Belgium Brewery; and a children’s kite-building activity at the Arboretum.
