Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 19, 2012 <br />Page2of3 <br />VIII. Discussion: Louisville Public Library re: On the Same Page Collaboration — <br />Presented by Aimee Schumn, shared with the board the library usually announces the <br />name of the book in June. The general theme is "autism ". Stories on stage (adaptation <br />of the book) will be in the Fall. Also in the Fall the library is planning Discovery which is <br />to introduce Science and Engineering. <br />IX. President's Report — <br />• SCFD Cast 3 Meeting and possible Membership — Susan explained the <br />Council to Advance and Support Tier III effort to register 150 organizations by <br />the end of April to increase the membership in which organizations can work <br />together. There is no membership fee to join. Brett moved to approve being <br />a member. Danyelle seconded. The motion was unanimous. <br />• Meeting with Lynn Fleming tentative Arts Center date held for Spring 2013. <br />• Discussed with Angie Facciotti, the Coppersmith suggested that we have the <br />artists rent the pads we have in the park whereby LCC would earn a <br />commission on the art sold. Discussed with Janet Roberts, Creative Framing <br />re AIPP suggested art exhibits downtown. <br />• Fork and Nina's Flowers have volunteered to sponsor LCC events. <br />• City Council Presentation is scheduled for May 22nd. Exact time TBD. <br />X. Treasurer's Report / Grant Updates <br />Action Item: Justine to get information from the bank on transferring money to a CD. <br />XI. Event Reports <br />• Beth & Margot and Justin Roth Coffeehouse Concerts, Andy (61 people <br />attended the performance) <br />• Cobus du Toit & Patrick Sutton, and Michael DeLalla & Oxymore. Susan <br />(approximately 40 people attended each performance) <br />• Young Artists Show and Young Writers Show. Danyelle <br />• 2012 Summer Concert Series to be held Thursday, 7 — 8:30 pm. <br />D June 21 — Strangebyrds <br />D June 28 — John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light <br />D July 12 — Dog Tuesday <br />D July 19 — PKB (Pete Karsounes Band). <br />XII. City Council Update - Council Member Susan Loo advised the Event Kiosk will <br />need to go through the city council process. <br />XIII. City Staff Update — Julie Seydel discussed the landscape project for the <br />Recreation Center expected to be completed the first part of July; lighting too. <br />
