Advice sought on donations of other artifacts being offered <br />The Commission voted not to accept a box of barbed wire, the age and use of which <br />was not known. Gladys consulted the Hiwan Homestead Museum to identify the barbed <br />wire, but they were unable to clarify. Bridget will thank the donor and suggest an <br />alternative place for the donor to donate the wire. <br />The sign from Hanks Model Train store, in the location that was formerly the Twin <br />Lakes Tavern at 728 Main Street, has been offered to the Museum. The sign is from <br />recent times and the Museum’s available storage space was discussed as a relevant <br />consideration. The Commission decided not to accept this item on a vote of 4 to 3. <br />3. Additional Items from Museum Coordinator’s Report <br />The Museum’s new summer hours are Wed 10-3; Fri 3-8; Sat 10-3. The Friday hours <br />coincide with the Louisville Street Faire and First Friday Art Walk. <br />Donations in the amount of over $1,600 have come to the Museum in memory of <br />former Historical Commission Members Don Ross and Bob Enrietto. The Commission <br />is grateful for the tribute paid to its former members. <br />Taste of Louisville was well-attended at the Museum and the pizzelles made by Pat <br />Seader and Virginia Caranci were a popular feature. <br />Bridget stated that she is working with a volunteer to sort through a set of items and <br />documents relating to the Thomas family, and particularly their ownership of the Capitol <br /> <br />
