<br />Horticulture & Forestry <br />Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />Thursday, August 2, 2012 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br /> 7:00 <br />PM <br />I.Call to Order—Chair Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. <br />II.Roll call—Board members present: Shelly Alm, Mike Frontczak, Meredith Preston- <br />Eddy, Theresa Rounds, Ellen Toon, Beverlee White. Board members absent: <br />Kimberly Heestand, Matt Tepe. Staff members present: Dean Johnson, Ed Berry. City <br />Council member present: Susan Loo. Guest: James Davis, student at Front Range <br />Community College. <br />III.The agenda was approved by all members. <br />IV.The minutes from the June 7, 2012 meeting were approved. <br />V.Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda—Susan commented that a couple of <br />Arboretum issues will be discussed by Council later this year, including the “cricket <br />field” and permanent restrooms. Per Dean, the contract for new sod around the pergola <br />is currently in the bid process. Dean also stated that watering in city-owned areas has <br />been reduced by ten percent for the rest of the season. Susan stated that landscape <br />maintenance at the former Sam’s Club is the responsibility of the property manager. <br />Dean reminded the Board that three members’ terms expire at the end of 2012: Shelly, <br />Meredith, and Matt. (All will be contacted by Meredyth Muth regarding re-application <br />and interview schedules in November.) Dean presented the landscape plan for Steele <br />Ranch South—it will be available for review and comment with Allan Gill at the Parks <br />Admin building (the ‘white house’ office on Main Street.)
