• Bill Simmons, Louisville City Administrator, described how the City is restructuring the <br />Parks and Recreation departments. He said there will be a Dept. of Recreation and Senior <br />Services, and a Dept. of Land Management. The Land Management will oversee <br />groomed ground park maintenance, open space management, resource conservation, <br />wildlife and forestry. <br />Matters from Staff / Board on agenda <br />Bill Simmons also discussed the purchase of new open space lands. The City, Boulder <br />County, and Lafayette jointly purchased 150 acres (Section 15, just north of the Boulder <br />County Land Venture) for $750,000 and 55 acres along Coal Creek Trail to the north near <br />Lafayette (near Aquarius). <br />Dr. Tim Seastedt presented his findings on using knapweed seedhead gall insects, <br />knapweed seedhead weevil, knapweed root weevil and knapweed root beetle on <br />knapweed (see attached report). <br />Adjournment <br />Agenda for the next meeting: <br />Dave Weber on purple loosestrife <br />Review draft inventory report <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM. <br />The next meeting of the Citizens Open Space Advisory Board will begin at 7:00 p.m. <br />on Monday, November 19th at 7:00 pm at the Louisville Public Library. <br />• <br />
