Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 3, 2001 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK - APRIL 1 -7, 2001 <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson read the proclamation proclaiming April 1-7 as National Library Week. <br />He noted that it will mark the launch of a five-year campaign to educate people about the <br />value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century. <br /> <br />Marie Sievert and Carol Purfurst accepted the proclamation for the Library. Sievert <br />thanked the Council for recognizing the service that the Library provides. Carol Purfurst <br />reviewed Louisville Public Library's activities for the week. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that the City is very fortunate to have the Library Staff, Library Board and <br />volunteers. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - BUILDING SAFETY WEEK - APRIL 9-13 -2001 <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson read the proclamation proclaiming April 8-14 as International Building <br />Safety Week. Chief Building Official Mike Jones accepted the proclamation for the <br />Building Department and thanked Council for their support. <br /> <br />Sisk expressed his appreciation to Mike Jones and his Staff for their good work. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1358, SERIES 2001 - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />PAYMENT OF CITY MONEYS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF VACANT REAL <br />ESTATE 15.2 ACRE PARCEL LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF <br />MCCASLIN BOULEVARD AND VIA APPIA - public hearing - 2nd reading - <br />(advertised Daily Camera 2/24/01) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1358, Series 2001. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />City Administrator Bill Simmons addressed Ordinance No. 1358, Series 2001 and <br />Resolution No. 22, Series 2001. He stated that Ordinance No. 1358, Series 2001 will <br />authorize the payment for a 15.198 parcel of land located at the southeast comer of <br />McCaslin and Via Appia.
