Louisville City Council Meeting
October 2, 2001
Page 12

CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT

City Administrator Bill Simmons reported that the Facilities Committee, consisting of the
City Staff and Councilmen Sisk and Keany, met on Friday, September 29, 2001, to begin
the process of interviewing firms that will do site design services for the city-owned 15
acre parcel along Via Appia and McCaslin Boulevard. Simmons stated that in order to
narrow down the field, they have asked for resubmittals so that they have one single plan
instead of a separate architectural plan and a separate site plan. The deadline is October 8,
2001, after which the committee will meet to narrow down the plans submitted and make
a final selection.

Simmons reported that with the departure of Steve Baysinger, Director of Parks and
Recreation, he has named Keith Williams acting Director. Simmons stated that various
departments are being reviewed and the finishing touches put on a proposal that would
combine several areas to create a new department. Simmons stated that he would be
forwarding a proposal and recommendation to Council in the near future.

None.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

ADJOURNMENT

Dav~ouncil adjourn (8:15 p.m.), seconded by Brown. All in favor.
Tom DavidsO~n, Mayor

N~ncy V~, City Clerk

12
