Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
July 12, 2012

Robinson stated when the original area was annexed into the City the property
owners were given the opportunity to say either yes or no to annexation. There are
still a few individual lots not annexed into the City.
Lipton asked what the applicant gains with the annexation.
Robinson stated they could gain more development rights; it closes up one of the
unincorporated properties in the city.
Tengler inquired about the neighbors next door that are not annexed.
Robinson stated the applicants had contacted them and they are not interested in
annexing.
Lipton asked what type of fee is required for an annexation.
Russ stated the annexation application is an expensive process and carries a fee of
$6,000 +.
Applicant Presentation:
Andy Johnson, DAJ Design, Inc. representing the applicants stated the applicants
agree with the RL zoning as suggested by staff. He discussed how detailed the
process is for an annexation and it seems the process is more appropriate for a
larger development site. He suggested to the Commission and staff look into a better,
shorter and less expensive of a process for those remaining enclave properties.
Commission Questions of Applicant:
None heard.
Public Comment:
None heard.
Summary Comments and Request from Staff and Applicant:
None heard.
Closed Public Hearing – Planning Commission Discussion:
Lipton asked for discussion. Hearing non he requested a motion.
Russell moved and Pritchard seconded a motion to approve Resolution No. 15,
Series 2012 recommending approval of an ordinance zoning as Residential Low-
Density (RL) certain property to be annexed into the City of Louisville and known as
the Kline Property.
Roll Call Vote:

Name Vote
Jeff Lipton Yes
Chris Pritchard Yes
Ann O’Connell Yes
Cary Tengler Yes
Jeff Moline Yes
Steve Brauneis Excused
Scott Russell Yes
Motion passed: 6 to 0 (1 absent)
