Building Code Board of Appeals <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 17, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Introduction of New Board Member <br />The new Board Member was unable to make the meeting. Introductions will be done <br />at the March 21, 2013 meeting. <br />Election of Officers <br />Van Pelt nominated Geise as Chairman with Berry seconding. Motion <br />passed by all members present. <br />Geise nominated Berry as Vice-Chairman with Van Pelt seconding. <br />Motion passed by all members present. <br />Geise also nominated Swanson as Secretary with Van Pelt seconding. <br />Motion passed by all members present. <br />2013 Meeting Location Notice <br />Geise moved and Van Pelt seconded the motion to approve the 2013 Meeting <br />Locations. Motion passed by all members present. Resolution was signed by 2013 <br />Chairman Geise and Vice-Chairman Berry. <br />2013 Meeting Dates <br />The Boards only concern with attendance to the meeting would be the March 21, <br />2013 meeting in regards to Spring Break. Geise moved and Berry seconded the <br />motion to approve the 2013 Meeting Dates. Motion passed by all members present. <br />Open Government Training and Handout <br />The Board asked if Staff knew of the dates for the 2013 Open Government Training <br />sessions. Staff does not, but hopes to have them at the next meeting. <br />Comprehensive Plan Update – Energy Chapter <br />Planning Staff was unable to make the meeting and has been moved to the March <br />21, 2013 meeting date. The Board asked Staff if the Comprehensive Plan was <br />moving along. Staff said the Planning Division has been hard at work on the Plan <br />and is moving forward with the City Council approval. More information will be given <br />at the next meeting. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Projects for 2013 Building Code Board of Appeals <br />I. Mobile Home Ordinance <br /> The Mobile Home Ordinance will be on the forefront of the goals <br />for the Board. Once we have received the research and review <br />the City Attorney has done on the Mobile Home Ordinance, it will <br />be brought before the Board for further discussion. Staff hopes <br />to have this information for the next meeting in March. <br />II. Review of the Louisville Municipal Ordinance <br /> Staff may bring some of the possible changes in front of the <br />Board of Discussion and/or approval. There looks to be no <br />major changes, but minor wording changes including the <br />references to the UBC. <br />III. 2012 Building Codes <br /> The Board asked Swanson as CBO where he stands on <br />adopting the 2012 codes. Swanson replied there are different <br />factors to take into consideration including the insurance impact <br />
