City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> March 19, 2013 <br /> Page 2 of 10 <br /> There were no public comments. <br /> APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br /> MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Council <br /> member Sackett. All were in favor., <br /> A. Approval of Bills <br /> B. Approval of March 5, 2013 Minutes <br /> C. Approval of Purchase of Replacement Police Vehicles <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Council member Loo reported on the success of the Horticulture and Forestry Advisory <br /> Board's "It Starts with a Seed" seminar held on March 6`h. The event was a huge <br /> success with over 75 people attending. The capacity of the meeting area had reached <br /> maximum and approximately 20 people were turned away. She thanked the Horticulture <br /> and Forestry Board for their hard work, the attendees who donated to the Arboretum <br /> and Botanical Interests, who provided the speaker and donated the free seeds. <br /> Mayor Muckle reminded Council of the March Mayors for Meals Event, which will be <br /> held on Wednesday, March 20th. It will begin at the Lafayette facility, where the meals <br /> are prepared, then meal delivery and a luncheon at the Louisville Senior Center. <br /> Council Member Jasiak reported on Saturday April 6th the City will conduct a spring <br /> mulch give away at the City Branch Recycle Site from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming suggested the public take advantage of the City's spring mulch <br /> give away and use it to conserve moisture around their trees and shrubs. He anticipated <br /> imposing mandatory water restrictions for outdoor irrigation due to the very low <br /> snowpack in the mountains. He will meet with staff to project the supply and demand <br /> and look at what other communities are doing. He will bring more information to the <br /> Council at their April 6 meeting. If water restrictions are imposed, staff will provide <br /> suggestions and educational information to the residents on water conservation. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> DISCUSSION/DIRECTION — PRELIMINARY 2014 CITY COUNCIL GOALS <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. <br />
