Louisville Special City Council Meeting <br />February 19, 2002 <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council go into Executive Session to discuss pending <br />litigation (Centennial Valley Properties IV, Inc., v. City of Louisville, Case g01 CV580, <br />Div. 3, Boulder County District Court), seconded by Levihn. All in favor. <br /> <br />Council adjourned into executive session at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Davidson reconvened the Council at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS CONTINUED <br /> <br />Report by City Attorney from Executive Session - (Centennial Valley Properties IV, <br />Inc., v. City of Louisville, Case g01-CV 580, Div. 3, Boulder County District Court). <br />City Attorney Light stated that the executive session was called for the purpose of <br />receiving legal advice with respect pending litigation. During the executive session, the <br />City Attorney received direction from City Council regarding litigation strategy in that <br />pending lawsuit. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />Simmons reminded Council of the February 26, 2002 work session. He stated that a <br />Qwest representative will be available to explain DSL service and their plan for <br />Louisville. The second agenda item will be the RFQ - Request for Qualification <br />proposal for citywide trash collection. <br /> <br />Mayer asked that Peter Huffman be contacted and advised of the agenda items for the <br />work session. <br /> <br />Simmons reported that he and Public Works Director Tom Phare, met with the Staff of <br />the Northwest Parkway Highway Authority to begin the detailed planning of the 96th <br />Street/Highway 42 connection. He stated that it was a very positive meeting and he looks <br />forward to continued discussions. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported on gateways into the City and stated that he had <br />conversed with Architect Eric Hardronft about the scope of improvements needed. <br />He stated that signage at Highway 42 and Pine Street is being considered, but due to <br />future construction, it may not be long-term. With respect to Main Street and South <br />Boulder Road, the Gateway Master Plan will provide guidance for improvements on City <br />owned land, which is located on the east side of the intersection of Main and South <br />Boulder Road.
