Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 2, 2002 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />Sisk reported on an email received from Chief Bruce Goodman on a gun control bill <br />before the state legislators. Goodman indicated his concern with proposed legislation <br />that would allow concealed weapons to be more prevalent. Sisk voiced his opposition to <br />concealed weapons and urged the Council to review the bill. <br /> <br />Assistant to the City Manager, Heather Balser stated that Staff will forward comments, <br />relative to the proposed gun legislation, to Representative Plant and Senator Phillips. <br /> <br />Brown reported that the City has become a member of the Transit Alliance. He explained <br />that this organization is very active in transportation issues in the metro area and deals <br />with subjects such as highway construction and alternative modes of transportation. He <br />commended Mayor Davidson for his leadership, and Heather Balser for her hard work on <br />transportation issues. He stated that there has been a significant movement in the <br />legislature with ideas on how to fund future transportation projects and positive <br />movements toward ballot issues. He noted that Louisville citizens might be afforded the <br />opportunity to vote on a downtown commuter rail station. <br /> <br />Keany asked City Manager Simmons if expired downtown PUDs would be extended or <br />retroactive to the passage of Ordinance No. 1377, Series 2002. City Manager Simmons <br />confirmed that any expired PUDs would be extended to the passage of Ordinance No. <br />1377, Series 2002. <br /> <br />Keany announced a Downtown Business Association Meeting, to be held at the Old <br />Louisville Inn, on Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at 8:00 a.m. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />N~tn~y ¥;a~r~, City Clerk <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council adjourn (7:59 p.m.), seconded by Keany.
