She explained that the Post Office is a very important component
to the downtown businesses and choosing the north site will not eliminate the Post
Office. She addressed the traffic along Front Street and suggested it may not be a
desirable site for a library. She asked that Council seriously look at the north site and
emphasized that it is very important to keep the library downtown.

Eric Hartronft, 801 Main Street, Louisville, CO, concurred that the best location for the
library is downtown. He voiced his opinion that the existing parking lot site is preferable
over the Post Office site. He noted that both sites have challenges, however if the Post
Office site is chosen, a new home must be found to relocate the Post Office. He stated
that the Post Office is crucial to the downtown business. He addressed the traffic at the
Post Office location and noted that the intersection of Pine and Front will be extremely
busy with STK shift change and the child population at the library. He suggested that the
plaza area on the north site could be expanded to create a pocket park. He voiced his
belief that the Post Office site is limited, however if the Post Office is chosen, he
encouraged Council to look at creating a space for a park. He called attention to the
public improvements needed along Front Street, in addition to the site development. He
voiced his support for a new library in the downtown area.

COUNCIL COMMENTS

Sisk explained that when the Library Needs Assessment Team voted on the library site,
he and Council member Keany refrained from voting.
