Board members absent: Mike
Frontczak, Erik Gustafson. Staff member present: Chris Lichty. City Council member
present: Susan Loo.
III.The agenda was approved by all members.
IV.The minutes from the October 3, 2013 meeting were approved.
V.Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda—Susan announced that Council has
approved the 2014 budget, and it includes funds for the Arboretum restrooms (for
engineering in 2014, with construction in 2015.) Other budget items she mentioned
were funding for the golf course and water treatment plant.
VI.Flood 2013 update—Reconstruction work on the bridge on County Road has not been
started. Bids are in for golf course work, including debris removal and design/build.
The City expects reimbursement from FEMA for some expenditures. The Pac 12
cross-country finals took place at the golf course (race course was altered due to flood
damage)--event went very smoothly and was well attended. A volunteer day for Coal
Creek trail restoration is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9.
VII.Emerald Ash Borer update—Chris provided general information and will send board
members a link to websites with extensive information. Chris stated that the insect is
usually in an area for 3 to 5 years before damage is noticeable. There are some
treatments that may be helpful if an ash tree’s canopy decline is less than fifty percent.

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
