Tree-Age is a product injected into the tree trunk by commercial applicators.
Homeowners can treat trees with another chemical that is applied by drenching the soil
within the root zone. These treatments are usually applied in the spring. Chris
estimates there are about 1300 ash trees on City property, which he will begin to assess
this winter to determine feasibility and scope of treatment.
VIII.Xeric Demonstration Garden renovation—Susan stated that this project is not included
in the 2014 budget. Mark has taken his preliminary plan to Alan Gill, and plans to
count the boulders currently in the area for possible reuse in his plan. One approach to
this project is a phased renovation, starting with demolishing the current berms, saving
some plants, and presenting a detailed plan to Council at the spring study session.
Mark will bring a detailed plan to the December meeting for further discussion.
Thursday, December 5, 2013
IX.Discussion Items for next meeting on —Xeric
demonstration garden renovation; library talk in February on emerald ash borer; 2014
calendar of events including Arbor Day and other library talks.
X.The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
