Louisville City Council Special Meeting <br />December 10, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Sisk stated the size of the Courtroom could be reducewd and stressed a smaller facility <br />could still function but would require more frequent sessions of Court. <br /> <br />Mayer addressed the renovations required at Memory Square Swimming Pool, and <br />enhancements for the Louisville Library. <br /> <br />Council member Brown arrived at 6:18 p.m. <br /> <br />Van Pelt stated no opposition to removing the City Shops renovation from the 2003 <br />Capital Projects program. She voiced her opinion the Capital Project budget should <br />include improvements to the Recreation/Senior Center. She stated the City has a long- <br />term commitment to the Recreation Center. <br /> <br />Davidson asked Recreation/Senior Services Director Keith Williams to identify the <br />amount of funds are required for improvements. Williams responded 4 million dollars, <br />and explained that the improvements would be phased over a 7-10 year period. <br /> <br />Keany questioned the amount of funds reserved for road improvements and stated only <br />essential projects should be earmarked and the balance be put in reserve. <br /> <br />The following items were removed from the 2003 Capital Projects Budget: · Warembourg Pond <br /> · City Shops renovation <br /> · New sprinklers <br /> · Police Department Equipment <br /> · Trail improvements - Callahan Trail <br /> · Recreation/Senior Center improvements <br /> · City Hall renovations <br /> <br />Council decided to review the capital project program at a later time to re-evaluate <br />projects. <br /> <br />Davidson asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak before or against the 2003 <br />Budget. Hearing none, the public heating was closed. <br /> <br />MOTION: Keany moved that Council approve the 2003 Budget, as amended, seconded <br />by Levihn. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 42, SERIES 2002 - SUMMARIZING EXPENDITURES AND <br />REVENUES FOR EACH FUND AND ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING <br />ON THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY 2003 AND ENDING ON THE LAST DAY <br />OF DECEMBER 2003 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
