He suggested creating a roundtable of <br />brokers to determine strengths and weaknesses. We need to listen to brokers because they <br />know what developers are looking for. <br />Mike Kranzdorf thinks bringing brokers in for a discussion is a good idea. <br />Reichenberg suggested holding the roundtable once per year to keep in touch with trends. <br />Menaker suggested cold-calling is very challenging. Dalton said to develop the map first, then <br />cold-call if needed. <br />Mayor Muckle suggested City Council would be very interested in a plan/road map. <br />Commissioner Angell offered the Chambers assistance in organizing the roundtable. <br />Commissioner Tienken said we need to prepare the questions. <br />Chair Dalton asked if the Committee was ready to move forward with the roundtable and by <br />voice affirmation, the Committee approved. <br />SUPERIOR TOWN CENTER MEETING RECAP: <br />Chair Dalton reported that City Council held a joint meeting with the Town of Superior. Superior <br />presented their plan for the Superior Town Center. Louisville City Council said Superior must <br />comply with the 1997 IGA. Superior believes they are. Louisville asked that the requirement for <br />250,000 sq ft of retail be explicitly called out in the Superior Town Center plan. Dalton noted that <br />Superior has not asked the City of Louisville to renegotiate the IGA. The enforcement <br />mechanism is unknown. <br />SMALL AREA PLANS 2014 <br />The first Small Area Plan will be South Boulder Road. March is the expected kick off month for <br />public meetings. McCaslin/Centennial Valley will start in July. <br />RETENTION MEETINGS: <br /> Hope Foods – DeJong and Reichenberg visited. Hope Foods has a lot of room to grow. <br />They are at approximately 30% capacity with 30 employees. <br /> CoBiz Bank – DeJong visited. CoBiz Bank does commercial lending for the state. They <br />like being in Centennial Valley. <br /> Marketforce - DeJong and Tammy Milano visited. The owner really likes being in <br />Centennial Valley and is very busy. <br /> F5 Networks – DeJong visited. They are planning to expand. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING: <br /> Former Sam’s Club is under contract. The buyer is looking for retail tenants. Expected <br />closing is early February 2014. <br />4 <br />
